Paramount Moving Forward with School of Rock 2

We previously mentioned that Mike White had finished and turned in the script for a School of Rock sequel. It sounds like Paramount Pictures liked what they saw.

According to Variety, the studio is moving forward with the sequel that has Jack Black attached to reprise his role as rock star wannabe/substitute teacher Dewey Finn. Richard Linklater is attached to direct again, and Scott Rudin is returning as producer.

The follow-up,titled School of Rock 2: America Rocks, picks up with Finn leading a group of summer school students on a cross-country field trip that delves into the history of rock 'n' roll and explores the roots of blues, rap, country and other genres.

The original was a box office hit for the studio, costing just $30 million to make and earning $131 million worldwide.

i thought part 1 was ok. but it doesnt need a sequel. why is there a sequel to everything nowadays! At least bring on some bad boys 3 thats the only sequel i really want.

bad boys wasnt that great of a movie either. i dont think it deserved a sequel. anyway, school of rock was not a good movie and i will definitely not pay to see a sequel. no encore for me.

Are the kids returning? I thought a sequel would be cool, wasn't impressed with Jack's recent filmography since King Kong to be honest.

3evil Man, Bad Boys 2 did suck, though Bad Boys was great, and I'd love to see a Bad Boys 3 made WELL. Plus, Smith and Lawrence are awesome together.
I also want to see a Men In Black 3 - same case as Bad Boys - the original was good, the sequel kind of sucked, and I want the third to be made WELL.

School of Rock 2 I might watch if I like the previews and the reviews are acceptable. The first was pretty fun. But new kids? I would've liked the old ones - now it just sounds like they're repeating the exact same story.

considering that most of those kids are teens/young adults now i really dont see it having the same charm even with the originals. perhaps cameos or bit parts...but new kids need to be brought in
