Fincher's Heavy Metal a No-Go at Paramount

Entertainment Weekly says that David Fincher's Heavy Metal is a no-go at Paramount:

Not even a bigshot like David Fincher could keep Heavy Metal at Paramount. The Zodiac director, who is currently putting the finishing touches on his highly-anticipated Brad Pitt movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has been spearheading an edgy remake of the 1981 R-rated animated flick inspired by the 1970s fantasy magazine of the same name. But Tim Miller, whose Blur Studio is handling the animation, says he and Fincher, along with current Heavy Metal publisher Kevin Eastman, are now shopping the film to other studios because Paramount's new production execs felt the movie was too risque for mainstream audiences.

sad to hear Paramount has no balls, it's for the best though if Fincher wants to do the flick his way and not have a cowardly studio getting in the way, money just might be a bit tighter.

if Lionsgate says yes to it then we will see a version better than the 81 version. Lionsgate has a lot of balls but i just hope the budget will be as high as possible so that bands people care about will do the music

Come on people can you imagine a real life version of Heavy Metal, lots of hot topless big breasted horny women throughout the film. Unless this is animated I can even seen Lionsgate passing on this one.

OH NO! I hope that they find a studio willing to take the risk...I think that it'll pay off handsomely for them. I know that I, along with a whole generation of fanboys (& girls) are feverishly waiting for this after the disappointing Heavy Metal 2000 flopped. It's about time to do it RIGHT! Fincher is just the man for the job too, in my opinion.
