"Harry Potter" franchise star Rupert Grint has joined Cherrybomb, a Belfast-set teen drama about two friends whose furious competition for a beautiful but manipulative girl has tragic consequences.

Variety says Kimberley Nixon (upcoming Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging) stars as the girl, with emerging Irish actor Robert Sheehan playing best buddy and love rival to Grint's character.

Cherrybomb is produced by Generator Entertainment, Green Park Films and Octagon Films and is the joint debut of co-directors Glen Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa from a screenplay by Daragh Carville (Middletown).

Wow so i'm the first i know i'll probably get responses to this but honestly who cares. This kid sucks in Harry Potter in my opinion, but not as bad as Radcliffe which he is almost as good as Hayden from Star Wars. Anyway this movie sounds terrible the whole concept sounds horrible. Whatever happened to original ideas in movies anymore. Oh I remember they are being remade time and time again like with the day the earth stood still. And more and more each year are being remade and eventhough this Cherrybomb isnt a remake it is just another bad concept, that every Harry Potter fan oh im sorry limited harry potter fans will go see since they are hardcore to the franchise along with some of the bad actors in the films. But you see the movies will be bad.

If anyone wants to go see a movie that will blow you away go see Hellboy 2:The Golden Army or even The Dark Knight.

I always thought Ron would make a great Clyde if Clint Eastwood ever decided to make another "Any which way..." film.

Sounds a bit like a movie Ken Loach would make if he was Northern Irish.

Good luck Rupert

Every article has some negative comment by this swollen-tongued mongoloid Mike. Seems that nothing can satisfy him, unless Justin Long is in his mouth. Maybe movies aren't your thing... try cartoons or talk shows (seems like you'd do well in that genre).
