The new issue of Empire magazine has this new promo photo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, opening May 1, 2009. Directed by Gavin Hood from a David Benioff, the action-thriller co-stars Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

if you seen it a million times, you need to find something else to do. Have you ever counted to a million. That's a lot of wasted minutes.

This movie better be good. I wish they cast someone new and reinvented it completely. Seeing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again is not exciting at all. What's up with the title? Are they serious? They still haven't changed it? "Wolverine" will do just fine.

Can't understand why everybody is complaining. This movie is gonna kick ass. Jackman is cool and the succes of the X-men films is mainly because of him. Hopefully this will launch further adventures of Wolverine.

And by the by....casting someone else is the dumbest idea in the history of dumd ideas!

Mzike, why in the hell would they re-cast Hugh Jackman & reinvent it completely? What a stupid ass statement. First off, it's a prequal that's connected to the X-Men films. It's Wolverine's origin story.

The title "X-Men Origins" is series of prequals that's connecting to the X-Men films. Wolverine is one of those films so, changing of the title is highly unlikely.

And one last thing, re-casting in the middle of a franchise is the death card. If your hoping for a re-boot to the character then you have a long wait ahead. This character isn't on his death bed by any means like Batman was until Christian Bale & Christopher Nolan came about.

Not sure what to think of this movie... inside word is that director Gavin Hood is ENTIRELY out of his element with a big budget special effects driven flick like this and the producers have wanted him kicked off the project. His reps at CAA (I believe it's that one...) have told Fox to keep this hush hush from both Gavin and the main populace as to keep Gavin's rep intact. In return, they're sending some vet producers over to help get things sorted out and iron out any potential wrinkles. I REALLY want to love this film, I'm just leary of what the outcome may be. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
