BUT, haven't seen'em in action so I really can't say if I honestly like them or not.
Really cool poster though. Just one question...
Are we EVER going to get to see what Cobra Commander looks like before the movie comes out!?!
It could be a photo from the movies: the rock or navy seals.
Whoever came up with this idea is an idiot who should be fired.
Snakes Eyes or something that is uniquely GI Joe should be in the poster.
It would be like having a Transformers poster and only showing a car (not transformed), just a plane old car and then sticking Transformers on it. How stupid are the people who are promoting this thing.
Overall - and even if I'm skeptical toward Stephen Sommers - I feel like it could be a decent blend of sci-fi, espionage and action. That kind of mixture is pretty rare and I hope they get it right, for once.
Also, Stephen Sommers is not really a bad choice for this. I'll admit that his "Mummy" films and "Van Helsing" are not Oscar-caliber films, but they were fun summer films that delivered what they promised. They never tried to be more than a summer popcorn flick.
Finally, we have to remember that this isn't just a film for fanboys from 1986. GI Joe has had a few different incarnations between my childhood and Sigma 6. The talent behind this had to find a happy medium so that it would be accessible to all audiences, not just target demographics (11-15 yr old boys) or fans of the 80s cartoon, etc.
So basically, hod bck any criticism about the film until we actually see footage (teaser, trailer, behind-the-scenes, the actual movie). Don't base hat the film could be over some publicity shots that are being used to lure in investors and distributors.
that gun especially reminds me of the toys...
looking forward to the movie!
