Zombies to Overrun Harvard

Source:Variety
June 2, 2008

Warren Zide (American Pie) is bringing to life The Harvard Zombie Massacre, buying up the comedy-horror spec script by newcomers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, says Vareity.

Zide will produce through his Parallel Zide with Ryan Lewis executive producing. Shooting is planned for early next year.

The story centers on a scenario in which Harvard is overrun by the undead and America's most brilliant minds fend off America's most brilliant zombies.

Yeah... Hopefully this isn't a rip off of Shaun of the Dead...

Harvard students ARE mindless zombies. Now if the Yale-ites were to fend off the Harvard scum, that would be an interesting movie.

Sounds a lot like a movie from the 80's, but instead of zombies, they were aliens. Just can't remember the title. It was gory :) and f'd up! I see the same future for this movie. I like the Yale vs. Harvard thing, takes Varsity rivalry to a whole new level. I'm bored

Shaun of the Dead 2: A Failed Sequel

Why make a zombie comedy after something like SotD? You have such a high standard in a genre that really needs talent to make things actually work.

Yep, just another example of writers losing the ability to come up with original GOOD ideas.

Let's see you guys come up with something better. Or maybe you could read the script before bashing it... I'm always amazed at the amount of "I could do that" or "God that's awful" coming from talentless hacks.

Actually, no. I retract my last statement. I'm an incompetent boob.

Anyone who likes 'Shaun of the Dead' should check out Peter Jackson's 'Dead Alive' if you haven't seen it. It's my sentimental favourite zombie comedy...
