UPDATE: Sony Going with a New Spider-Man?

UPDATE: Sony Pictures tells us that there is no truth to the rumor that the studio is looking to replace Tobey Maguire in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in future "Spider-Man" movies.

Last week, it was rumored that Sony Pictures is looking to shoot Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 at the same time using a script by James Vanderbilt that spans the two films. While that hasn't been confirmed, Latino Review added its own rumor... that Peter Parker/Spider-Man may get recast for the films.

Who do they say top the producers' list for the role? Patrick Fugit and Michael Angarano. More details here!

So does that mean Sam Raimi, Tobey and Kirsten Dunst are all out? It's too early to tell, but just remember none of this has been confirmed.

after Spidey 3, they can/should do whatever they can to win my money back. if that means rebooting, then so be it.

If this be the case, I'd rather them wait much, much longer to release 4. People are still in love with Maguire's Parker, despite most not liking the last movie.

Yow know I loved SM3 and as long as you get a good writer ( Vanderbilt ) for 4 and 5 theyll kick major a$$! enough birching about SM3 people move on already...

they should have called it a day with tobey on the second spiderman movie!!!!

re-cast and come back with a new style and more agresive spiderman! I am glad hes out! I like him as an actor, but spiderman evolves into a great super hero!

tobey, doesnt have that greatness!! he was good for what it was back then!! a kid in high school who gets his powers!! now is time to grow up and kick some serious A$$!!!!

give me the AMAZING SPIDERMAN! or something! I already know what he can do!!!

I agree with "the guy"...just because part 3 was the weakest of the films, people are acting as if its the 4th horseman of the apocalypse. Grow up.

I personally cant think spiderman without thinking Tobey, Sam Raimi, and kristin...so I hope the cast can return.
