Bale Signed for All Three Terminator Films

Christian Bale is to play rebel leader John Connor in three sequels to the "Terminator" franchise, starting with Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, according to BBC News:

The Welsh-born star, who is soon to be seen in Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight, has already started shooting the first of those films, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

"He's really an actor's actor, so we're very proud," said Victor Kubicek of film company Halcyon.

"Christian was our first choice and he's a big fan of The Terminator, so we're very lucky," Kubicek told the BBC at the Cannes Film Festival.

"But with Batman he's already done the whole franchise thing, so we weren't sure he'd respond."

Luckily, said Kubicek's business partner Derek Anderson, "he read the script and he loved it, so he's signed on for all three."

The first new installment, co-starring Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood, centers on John Connor, now in his 30s, who leads what is left of the human race in a battle against the machines. Directed by McG, Warner Bros. will release the film on May 22, 2009.

I hope he's sure about this. I keep hearing Ackbar, "It's a trap!". But Bale is badass and I am sure he knows what he is doing.

I'm still really worried about the PG13 rating. And I'm not one of "those" people who think a movie needs to be bloody or gruesome in order to be good. But this is Terminator! It should be "R". Or the MPAA can stop being complete prudes and allow the same type of violence and action as the previous three, while still giving it a PG13.

I have to say this is pretty weird for Chirstian Bale. I dont think he's the kind of guy to do stuff for the money so Im gonna say that the script must of been really good for him to sign on.

Great actor, perhaps a great script, terrible director- not sure how this is going to be cut but I love the first 2 movies and the third was alright but a little to campy, will give it a try.

this actually makes me feel much better about the new movies. The fact that a great Actor like Bale has signed on for 3 of them, they must be pretty good! Bring 'em on!!

I dunno. McG..... Who wrote the script? This had better not turn out like Reign of fire with Terminators.

Bale rocks!!!! If he like the script, then I know this movie will be cool. Hopefully, this won't effect the 3rd Batman movie, Nolan and him will do.
