Abrams Not Sure About Cloverfield 2?

SCI FI Wire talked to J.J. Abrams, who said that the Cloverfield team might want to do another project instead of a sequel.

"We're talking about it," he said, "But the truth is there's another idea that I'd rather do with the same people than do a sequel. It's a whole new thing."

I'd rather not see a Cloverfield 2, I mean the first was great and it will be a cult favorite, lets not ruin the fandom with a sequel now shall we? Oh BTW **** THE FIRST ****ERS!!!

yes, please. leave Cloverfield alone and move on to new original ideas. not everything needs a sequel

a Cloverifeld sequel WILL happen, without or without Abrams.

the DVD sales of this film are going to be HUGE, studios don't let cash machine go away.

you say the DVD sales ARE???? going to be huge? I'm pretty sure it's already on DVD and that the sales were quite good for it.

Still I say leave it be too though. Sometimes leaving a movie with no sequel is the best thing to do.. Like Crank.. a sequel doesn't need to be made.

I dont mind if theres no cloverfield 2 because i think the new project will be a new monster movie done the same way and supposed to be in the same "cloverfield" universe. Which would be awesome.

What could possibly make you believe that he would go with another monster movie based in the "cloverfield" universe.. if he was going to do that, he would just make a sequel.. I guarantee it will be something different all together.

cloverfield was so lame on so many levels. anyone wanting more legal tender blown on a sequel deserves to be shot.
