As far as directing, Andrew did even better this time around. I’m glad the battles weren’t a total of 8 minutes like the last film. They had some great sequences that were very exciting and filled the 2.5 hour running time very nicely. My only criticism really was that the acting at times wasn’t 100% there (not bad though) and that Andrew tends to leave in some things that ruin the moment after working so hard to establish such strong themes. Example: the bear biting his paw after peter gets his arm broken.
All in all a better film. the first one is still good but it’s exciting to see they are beginning to take this series a little more seriously. If they keep going down this road the next few will be killer! And nice job with Caspian and Talmarines casting. Love the concept.
Go see it.
Also, my favorite part of the showing, by far, was when the entire theater booed the trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Disney should just can that thing and get it over with.
As good as the first film was, it still cannot hold a candle to the book...I am pretty sure the same can be said for this one as well.
itsbad - you have no clue. Although Lewis and Tolkien were friends, they shared no info with each other on their respective books. Try reading your literature instead of the Hollywood Cliff Notes version.
tell me what was bad about the movie. Thats if you actually saw the movie. I personally didn't want to see the first two after reading the books a long time ago but after i saw the first one and now the second one I can honestly say they are put together really nicely. So if you're only complaint is that its a LOTR riff off go see the damn movie first.
Now as far as the movie goes, they did a good job making a movie out of the books and improved the dynamics of this motion picture over the first by far (of course some of which is just the nature of the story)
