As a film maker i know how hard adaptations are, and from this horrible book I don’t know how they got such a good film. Nice work. What I loved about the adaptation is how far they delved into the reality of the situation. You put adolescent teens together, you get physical attraction. You put 2 teenage kings together, you get rivalry. You get a fallen king who’s trying to prove himself, you get pride and arrogance.

As far as directing, Andrew did even better this time around. I’m glad the battles weren’t a total of 8 minutes like the last film. They had some great sequences that were very exciting and filled the 2.5 hour running time very nicely. My only criticism really was that the acting at times wasn’t 100% there (not bad though) and that Andrew tends to leave in some things that ruin the moment after working so hard to establish such strong themes. Example: the bear biting his paw after peter gets his arm broken.

All in all a better film. the first one is still good but it’s exciting to see they are beginning to take this series a little more seriously. If they keep going down this road the next few will be killer! And nice job with Caspian and Talmarines casting. Love the concept.

Go see it.

Caspian is definitely my least favorite of the books, but I really enjoyed what they were able to do with this movie. The settings (especially the crafting of the Telmarine culture and the ruins of Narnia) were great. The battles were a lot longer and more epic. The fight scenes left a little to be desired, but were still more intense than what appeared in the last movie. Now that all the characters have been set up, I'm excited to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader!

Also, my favorite part of the showing, by far, was when the entire theater booed the trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Disney should just can that thing and get it over with.

You can't call it a LOTR ripoff when the only thing they have is common is genre and a king/prince regaining a thrown. Besides, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien were friends and coworkers. Don't you think one of them would have said "hey you're stealing my work!" Please, maybe you should actually see the movie before you say it sucks. It's very well made and better than the first Narnia film (which I enjoyed tremendously).

dewman77 - you obviously haven't even read the books.
As good as the first film was, it still cannot hold a candle to the book...I am pretty sure the same can be said for this one as well.

itsbad - you have no clue. Although Lewis and Tolkien were friends, they shared no info with each other on their respective books. Try reading your literature instead of the Hollywood Cliff Notes version.

Good, but I still prefer TLTWATW - better storytelling. I loved the Pevensie kids in this film, especially Susan and Edmond who both got to kick some ass, although I rarely cared at all for Prince Caspian - his character was two 1 dimensional and wasn't fleshed out enough.

tell me what was bad about the movie. Thats if you actually saw the movie. I personally didn't want to see the first two after reading the books a long time ago but after i saw the first one and now the second one I can honestly say they are put together really nicely. So if you're only complaint is that its a LOTR riff off go see the damn movie first.

Before you start flaming away on this movie and comparing it to LOTR (I'm a fan of both LOTR and Narnia), remember that both authors of the books were close friends. Each writer took a different approach to their storytelling. Comparing the movies/books is like apples to oranges. The only thing similar is the Christian influences in both sagas.

Now as far as the movie goes, they did a good job making a movie out of the books and improved the dynamics of this motion picture over the first by far (of course some of which is just the nature of the story)
