The City of Ember Teaser Trailer!

Fox Walden has revealed the new teaser trailer for director Gil Kenan's (Monster House) adaptation of Jeanne Duprau's book, City of Ember, coming to theaters on October 10.

In the fantasy-adventure, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights for generations. But Ember's once powerful generator is failing... and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Now, two teenagers in a race against time, must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city's existence, and help the citizens escape before the lights go out forever. Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Saoirse Ronan, Harry Treadaway, Martin Landau, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Toby Jones and Mary Kay Place star.

I never picked up the book but this looks to be an interesting piece...something quite original. And Bill Murray! Can't go wrong with that.

Sheesh... Talk about missing the freakin' point of the book... They give away the big reveal in the first few seconds of the trailer. Then they screw up the look and feel of the place too. Ember has a very particular atmospehere... Like something out of a Fritz Lang film, with olde flickering lighbulbs... Everything's in gloom, it's cold and stark and twisted by the shadows. And when the lights fail - which they do, all too often - it's pitch black dark in this place... Aw.. City of Ember is not some jolly action adventure... This is just so far wide of the mark, it's ridiculous...

Was a good book. The movie looks kinda different from the book though. I'm seeing it anyway.

I agree with Gnomeo, they did give way to much in the trailer.

Even if it is a tad different then the book I'm still going to give it a try. I just hope they didn't ruin it.

This movie looks good but also kind of reminds me of Bioshock. The hole area looks alot like Rapture but without the 40's to 60's look. Im not saying there ripping it off though, actually even though this movie looks interesting this actually has fueled my anticipation for the bioshock movie.
