Fraggle Rock is Coming to the Big Screen

The Weinstein Company will turn the Jim Henson series "Fraggle Rock" into a live-action musical feature, reports Variety.

Cory Edwards, who directed the animated Hoodwinked! for TWC, will helm the picture and write the screenplay. The Jim Henson Co. will produce and TWC will distribute.

Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. The movie will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens.

The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries.

Hell yeah! I used to love this show. And "Hoodwinked" was funny. Crappy songs and animation, but well written.

I'm soooooo Down with Fraggle Rock! I'm glad it's not forgotten. Now all they need to do is get that Zoobilie Zoo Movie in the works and I'll be a happy man!

Please God, make this right. Ill be praying it doesn't go the way of Muppets in Space. The Henson company hasn't been of much worth since Henson himself died, but i truly hope they don't desecrate on his grave with this one.
And by the way, what ever happened to those fabled Dark Crystal sequels planned to come out?
