Steve Martin Goes From Zero to Sixty

Paramount Pictures has acquired From Zero to Sixty, a Steve Martin pitch for a comedy that will reteam him with Father of the Bride co-star Diane Keaton. Robert Simonds will produce, says Variety.

Martin and Keaton would play a couple in the comedy.

Paramount could put the film into production this fall if a writer is drafted quickly.

Simonds is the producer of the "Pink Panther" series, and he and Martin just wrapped the Harald Zwart-directed Pink Panther 2, which will be released in February. They have already begun talking with writers about Pink Panther 3.

Why wouldn't there be a Pink Panter 3? That's what usually followed Pink Panter 2. Just ask Peter Sellers. Pink Panter 4 would follow. Okay, that's all. Bye.

Oh, and Steve Martin rocks in just about everything, interested in what this From Zero to Sixty is all about.

Wasn't too big on the first. Felt the Trailer was way better than the movie... :-(

I've stopped seeing Steve Martin movies that don't have a script written by Steve Martin. When he writes, it's not only funny but there are a few layers of, for lack of a better word, art underneath the silliness. I would pay double the ticket price for a Steve Martin written comedy. When he doesn't write, it seems he has the worst taste in scripts.

I'm surprised Peter Sellers rotting corpse hasn't risen from the grave and slapped Steve Martin across the face for desicrating the Pink Panther series. Some things just don't need to be remade, and there will only be ONE Inspector Clouseau.

Have to agree with Luke on this one. When will get the next Three Amigos or Bowfinger? They were brilliant. Unfortunately most movies in which he stars in but does not write have been below par

Martin and Keaton are aces together. Hope it's a good script. Pink Panther (Martin's) was horrible. Hopefully the sequel wont' smell up the theater. Love Steve Martin though.
