Lincoln Biopic to Follow Tintin for Spielberg

Screen Daily is reporting that director Steven Spielberg will start shooting his long-anticipated biopic about the country's 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, in early '09 after completing his Tintin movie.

Originally, the Oscar-winning filmmaker had planned on directing The Trials of Chicago 7, but as reported earlier, it's been delayed to work out script issues, making room for the long-discussed biopic, which Spielberg would like to be released in the the year that would have been Lincoln's 200th birthday.

Spielberg also told a reporter at the German magazine FOCUS that production on Tintin won't be delayed due to a potential actors strike since it's being done using motion capture animation.

I'm not American, and even I want to watch this!
But it'll be hard for Speilberg to contend with the greatest Abe Lincoln on film, to date. Of course, I'm talking about the Abe Lincoln from Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Party on, dudes!

was there a rumor about Liam Neeson playing Lincoln or am I mistaken?

I have seen Liam Neeson talk about it in interviews, discussing his research and preparation for the role.

I'm curious what would come out first. Lincoln probably wouldn't take that long, so it could come out a good year before Tintin.

So release wise, it's Lincoln, then Tintin, then Chicago 7...then maybe Interstellar?

I really want to see Neeson in this. I've never really been disappointed by him and only good things could come from him and Spielberg together.

Steven is always working, I´m glad he´s always active, he´s my favorite director and all his new proyects are going to be perfect. I´m very anxious to watch the Lincoln Biopic and of course Tin Tin and Interstellar! I think these are great news, because im not very enthusiastic about Chicago 7.

I'd prefer Spielberg just skip Chicago 7... Lincoln and Tin Tin are much more appealing to watch.
