when you hear that paul anderson is directing a movie, umm you pretty much have to go see it because he is a genius when it comes to action movies, event horizon, the first resident evil, avp, to name a few. he has an excellent sense of timing, and recognizing what the audience wants to see in the movie, and thats why this movie will be good.

The producers should have just called this Carmageddon coming from a franchise ruining director...

If he's a franchise ruining director...then why did they make 3 resident evil movies? And why was there a second AVP movie and a third in the works as we speak?

I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm really not. Paul Anderson is not the greatest director in the world but at least he's not Brett Ratner. He starts a project himself and works it to the end. It's a heart project for him so I give him that.

Oh, and Event Horizon wasn't a bad movie at all. He needs to recapture the talent used in that into this one. Then, and only then, could it be good.

This could have been a great remake if Speed Racer did not come out this year. You would have to see the original Death Race 2000 in order to understand what I am talking about ( This is out now on DVD )Cast of David Carradine and Sylvester Stallon from 1970 something. The cars are crazy cool and the idea of running people over in the streets of the future for extra points is nuttz.

Anderson isn't a terrible director, he has just had some bad luck with studio intervention, AVP and Event Herizon are both great examples of that. I would be nice to see him finally get a chance to prove that he can do a really great flick but the lack of buzz for this one has me worried.

yes i would agree that it is his best film, but dude, do your homework. Over 20 mins of it was cut and script revisions done by andrew kevin walker(seven) were left out, plus much of it was changed a few times because of test audiences, I am a big fan of that movie in that the idea was cool and no I never got into the resident evil films (the first one was crap)
