Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt Part of 500

Zooey Deschanel (upcoming The Happening) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (upcoming G.I. Joe) will star in the Marc Webb-directed romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer for Fox Searchlight, reports Variety.

Clark Gregg, Minka Kelly, Matthew Gray Gubler and Rachel Boston round out the cast of the film, which centers on a man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls hopelessly in love with a woman (Deschanel) who doesn't believe in love.

Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber wrote the screenplay. Mark Waters, Jessica Tuchinsky, Steven Wolfe and Mason Novick are producing.

Shooting began Tuesday in Los Angeles.

I love both of these people. JGL is the greatest modern actor out there. GREATEST. Romantic comedy didn't seem in the cards for JGL, but since his pledge to only do good movies, I trust his word. He has not made a bad movie.

Plus, Clark Gregg... amazing.

Marc Webb = best music video director working today (not counting people like Spike Jonze or David Fincher who mostly direct films now). Go to his website marcwebb.com if you don't believe me. Most of my favorite music videos from the last 5 years came from him.

Benj I disagree w/ you. JGL has not had a bad PERFORMANCE that I have seen I agree there. I completely did not like this kid in 3rd Rock and never expected much from him, even in 10 Things I hate about You(One of my fave teen comedies of all time) I didn't like him. But He is fantatsic in The Lookout, And did awesome and was the standout performance in Stop Loss but the movie itself was Horrible! Slow, Phillippe & Tatum were boring together & the ending was a let down. JGL is a very good actor though & should do fine in this movie. But Stop Loss was terrible.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great in Brick and The Lookout. I'm not a romance as they are kind of fomulaic but I'll give it a shot.

Zooey Deschanel either nails her parts or totally flubs them. Did you her in that atrocity on Sci-Fi called "The OZ"? Ugh.
