Release Date Set for Harry Potter 7: Part I

When Warner Bros. Pictures made the big announcement that the studio was splitting up J.K. Rowling's final "Harry Potter" book into two parts, they said that "Part I" would open Holiday 2010, with "Part II" to be released in Summer 2011.

We now have an official date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and it's November 19, 2010. So far, it's the only movie scheduled for that date.

To be directed by David Yates ("Half-Blood Prince" and "Order of the Phoenix"), the Steve Kloves-scripted adaptation will again star Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

That's a long way away..

I'm kind of surprised they actually split the movie into two parts. They finally realized that HP books are too long to squish into a 2 and a half hour long movie. Hopefully the movies remain faithful to the books and make the 6-8 month wait between the two parts worthwhile.

yes yes yes, I'm sooo happy they are splitting the books, when I didn't know I thought that they were going to have to cut everything out and that you wouldn't be able to understand them ovie unless you read the books. But this, this is good news. Can't wait until then! It's almost EXACTLY a year from HBP, lol.

I'm all for the last being split in two, but how do you think Daniel, Rupert, and Emma are going to react. I mean they have lives too and I'm pretty sure they were counting on just doing 2 more Harry Potter movies and thats it.. I don't know if they'll stay if this happens. I would much rather see them all act together until the end and make 1 movie instead of bringing in a new actor or actress and splitting it.

I too am glad that they are splitting the novel, it is a long way away but we do have this November which is long enough away.

to alberto bravo

the actors are well aware of the situation and they are definately with it. Radcliff was one of the people that had announced the split a little while back. They would not bring in new actors after making six movies, trust me. And as for their lives, the sequels are being made at the same time, so its not like having to come back twice. They're going to make twice the amount of $$$ doing this in the process.
