Frank Miller (Sin City, upcoming The Spirit) tells MTV that he is in talks to direct an adaptation of his and Geof Darrow's comic, Hard Boiled, about an insurance investigator-turned-cyborg assassin. Back in 2001, it was announced that Warner Bros. was in talks with Miller and Darrow to write the feature film, that was to be directed by David Fincher with Nicholas Cage starring.

Check out Miller's comments on this here.

I heard a while back the John Woo wanted to do a remake of Hard Boiled with Chow Yun Fat as the lead again. I'm not sure how much of a "remake" that would be...

This "Hard Boiled" sounds like garbage.

Naw, this Hard Boiled was a very cool, very detailed series of three high quality books (oversize, awesome color). Darrow is a Heavy Metal magazine artist, and his illustrations are extremely detailed and often two-page spreads. He will pack hundreds of people, buildings, expended ammo shells - you name it - into every page. It took a long time for these books to come out because of his artistic style.
That being said, the story was merely ok. The art is the reason to own these books. You can look at them a hundred times and still see something different each time you look.
This comic had NOTHING to do with John Woo.
I have no idea how they would pull the look off, what with all the detail. Anyone who has seen this comic will agree. Best of luck to them on this one! I dunno...

This would be cool, but I hope Frank steers away from the Sin City-esque greenscreen film-style for a change.

Yup, which director "baby-sat" Frank for The Spirit?

I like the book, but it is really just an ultra violent Where's Waldo, with about as much plot development.
