"Battlestar Galactica" showrunner Ronald D. Moore has signed with United Artists to create and write a sci-fi trilogy, reports Variety. UA is keeping details of the project under wraps.

Moore has written extensively for TV and film, with feature credits on Mission: Impossible II, Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Generations.

UA is run by Tom Cruise and producing partner Paula Wagner, who said, "Over the last decade Ron has emerged as the foremost sci-fi, fantasy creator, writer in the industry and working with him to bring his creative talents to the big screen is a great partnership for our studio."

I'm not too sure, but I'm thinking the trilogy isn't about Battlestar, but something else un-named. If COMINGSOON can, it would be nice if they could let us know or not...??? ;-)

This is terrible news, such a waste of Ronald D. Moore's amazing talents. From BSG to some scieno propaganda.

That trilogy will no doubt be based off some garbage written by L. Ron Hubbard. Whatever it is, I hope it flops hard.

For those who don't know, Hubbard was an untalented sci-fi writer before he became a con man and founded the brainwashing space opera cult scientology.

All hail Xenu!

You guys are idiots. Just because Tom Cruise co-runs the studio, it MUST be about L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology? Get over yourselves.

I can't beleive half of you are really this stupid, you will say anything that drops into your feeble minds, just because he is a scientologist and decides to believe a sc- fi book is Tom Cruises very serious problem, some people are simple and will beleive, in aliens called Klaattu or zmorgmek otherwsie considered, a lunitic in most countries...this shows how idiotic humans have become....grow up, and enjoy entertainment for what it is, make beleive....enjoy the show !!! :)

Damn Scientology! Their propaganda did not work well enough so they had to bring in a master science fiction story teller to sell their religion.

I'm wary of anything Tom Cruise thinks is a good idea. He's a member of a religion (a word i use here in the loosest possible terms) that was founded by a science fiction writer. Plus, all of the films he's made in the past couple of years were terrible, with the exception of Minority Report.
