The new trailer for writer/director Stuart Townsend's Battle in Seattle, which will kick-off the Seattle International Film Festival, is now online. The action-drama stars Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Martin Henderson, Michelle Rodriguez, Andre Benjamin, Connie Nielsen, and Channing Tatum.

Based on one of the most incendiary political uprisings in a generation, the film takes an in-depth look at the five days that rocked the world in 1999 as tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in protest of the World Trade Organization. What began as a peaceful protest intended to stop the WTO talks quickly escalated into a full-scale riot and eventual State of Emergency that squared off peaceful and unarmed protestors against the Seattle Police Department and the National Guard.

i don't want to watch the trailer or read the article, but i do wish to say that i've been to seattle and i don't remember any battle.

seriously back in 1990 i was chillin with kurt cobain in seattle get trashed every night, takin turns screwin his girlfriend. seattle is alright overall, but nothin compares to chicago. i got lost in the chicago airport and ran into cobain again, at which point he congratulated me on getting out of prison for molestation charges. it sure is a good thing the age of consent is 16 in my state or id be in a lot more trouble LOL!

in conclusion, seattle is cool n all, but i don't care about whatever this is at all.

My brother was in a restaurant with a friend when those riots broke out. The whole restaurant got teargassed.

I've lived in Seattle since 2003 and I don't remember any battles - I think this is junk. Besides, I'd rather watch the Strawberry Statement.

There wasn't literally a battle ...... notice also you say you have lived there since 2003 now apparently this took place in 1999 . sigh
