ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! is exclusively premiering today the first video blog for Warner Bros. Pictures' highly-anticipated Watchmen, coming to theaters on March 6, 2009.

Directed by Zack Snyder (300), the mystery adventure is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl), Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach), Matthew Goode (Ozymandias), Billy Crudup (Dr. Manhattan), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Comedian) and Malin Akerman (Silk Spectre) star.

Here is an introduction by Snyder for the clip, which you can watch either by using the player or in High Definition QuickTime!

Here it is, the first of 12 video blogs that we will be releasing during the next year to give you an inside look at the making of Watchmen. We'll launch one every month on the 6th, so keep an eye out for them as they will be premiering on various sites throughout the year. With that said...

- Zack"

I really like the sets from the looks of things. Really detailed and carefully constructed. I still have my doubts about the adaptation, but at least it looks like a good film to look at.

I am really glad Zack has gone down this route with real sets. He seems to have learned fro the mistakes of Lucas using of CGI and its limitations. Just the fact they have spent time on creating the physicality of it good has far has i am concerned.

I must agree w/ Edward Douglas!

300 was great, but I miss the old school film!! let them bUILD STUFF AND BLOW STUFF UP!!! not just giant green screen!

2 different films and 300 had its reason why going like that!! I am not knocking on it!!

I just think this is great!! the way they are building stuff!!

looks like an great film in the making!
