Pixar is the best. Not one bad film in over twenties years! Talk about percentage! I have always been a fan, I bet George Lucas is kicking himself for selling Pixar in the 80s.

I'm really curious looking at these drawings if they can still make a heartwarming kid's film while having some scenes being both scary, otherworldly (no pun intended) and almost depressing just looking at those crane-type things (2nd picture).

Stanton had a few scary scenes in Finding Nemo, but nothing threatening. I'm really looking forward to the day where Pixar will release a family film where they build the characters up so high emotionally with the audience and then throw something really frightening into it to play with the audience's emotions. They can already do it with warm fuzzy feelings, what about cold and clanky feelings?

Pixars films are great but I think they need to start introducing more threatening subjects into their films.

Monsters Inc actually has a threat in the form of Randall who is genuinely slimy and really frightening, and Boo was the character that helped the audience feel the fear of Randall. If they could introduce fear into this using the love between Wall-E and Eve, I'll be set.

DOn't ask me why I want to see threatening stuff, I like dark kids stuff...*shrugs*

Youre right Abe....Pixar have been batting 500 so far. I loved every single Pixar movie to date. But by far the Incredibles is the greatest of them all, with Toy Story coming in a close second. But I read some quick reviews from people who's been to advance screenings to Wall.E and they all said this movie is the best Pixar movie so far...so i cant wait to see if theyre right.

I agree with Calum's comments. PIXAR is already batting a perfect score of 8 for 8 films in a row; all gathering critical and box office success worldwide. And yes , I think they need to inject more "mature" themes or "angles" into their films. And I am also sure that they are way way ahead of us when it comes to this subject. I guess it's not a question of "if" but "when". In an interview of Andrew Stanton sometime ago, he said : "Brad Birds' entry into PIXAR is a wake-up call for them because they found themselves resting on their laurels a little bit. And why wouldn't they, right? With all those success, hey I would. We'll be seeing more of those adult themes in their films sometime soon I bet. While still retaining that inimitable PIXAR magic. And that all boils down to a good story. A good story is king!!
