Quantum of Solace Cancels Machu Picchu Shoot

According to Reuters, producers for the upcoming James Bond movie Quantum of Solace said on Friday they have scratched plans to film near the Inca ruins at Machu Picchu -- Peru's top tourist site -- due to bad weather.

Filming for the 22nd Bond movie, starring Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, Jesper Christensen and Joaquin Cosio, had been set to start early this month in Cuzco, a city in southeastern Peru near the ancient Incan citadel.

"They decided not to come because of climatic conditions. They couldn't be sure it wouldn't rain and they have very tight time," said Margarita Morales, director of Iguana Productions, a Peruvian company hired to assist with filming.

Quantum of Solace hits theaters on November 7.

Even though Peru's not involved in the conflict (yet) its probably best if they just film else where, like Central America where the cast has a better chance of not getting kidnapped and held for a ransom that when its paid, would probably fund a small country or terrorist group fo years to come...Im sure though it will still be a good movie.

Hey guys,
if you want to get the most beautiful shots of ancient ruins for a blockbuster movie you need to go to one location:

Borobudur temple in Indonesia.

prego.

goodlookingman: The tension is over, presidents declared diplomatic truce.

I think it means that the filming was just postponed and I truly hope so. Inca ancient Cuzco would be awesome in the new Bond film.

Ev: Looked it up in wikipedia, very nice.

that's a completely ignorant comment. I'm Peruvian and I can assure you, no one's gonna get kidnapped just for coming to Peru. it's a pretty safe country, believe me, and we're pretty far from entering a freakin' war. God... Peru's like any other country, and I'm disappointed they're not gonna shoot in Cuzco... :S

oh well...

I don´t believe those are the real reasons of the cancelation. The weather? An entire location is canceled due to problems with security and those kind of matters, not raining days...
