New X-Men Origins: Wolverine Set Photos!

Just Jared has posted a bunch of photos of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth on the Sydney, Australia set for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, coming to theaters on May 1, 2009. This is in addition to the recent Glebe footage. Directed by Gavin Hood, the 20th Century Fox release also stars Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Them pointy little finger nails supposed to be threat to Wolverine?
I am not sure what's happening with this production.
Smaller Sabretooth, plus Gambit, Blob, etc. A whole slew of new mutants. Obviously we're getting X-4. I don't understand why, if, Wolverine is taking place pre-X-Men; many years before, then why add all these characters? Wouldn't they then be old by the time the X-Men forms?
Why are they playing around with the X-Universe like this?

We are obviously getting nothing at the moment. All the mutants they are adding to this pic were not in any of the previous movies other than Sabertooth, so their age hasn't been established.

I think that this could go either way, I think Liev Schreiber is a tremendous actor, it just reminds me when Sir Ian McKellen was announced to play magneto, folks freaked.

Let them do their thing and see when it's done or at least wait to freak out when the trailer is released.

Nice. I wasn't sure how they were going to bulk Liev up, but that works. I think he's going to make an awesome Sabertooth.

I have nothing against Liev nor even these photos. The character in these photos is looks like he'd be one nasty baddie, but Sabertooth he is NOT!

He's too comparable in size to Logan. Logan of course was on the shorter-than-average side while Sabertooth was always much larger-than-normal. Sabertooth is supposed to be a towering beast of a humanoid - much more animal than man. Even the fingernails in those pics are a disappointment. Yes Sabertooth's claws were his actual fingernails, but they were much larger and more deadly than what we see in the pics. Those nails look more like something you'd see on Sha-nay-nay.

Also Sabertooth should be pretty much covered with animal-like hair basically from head to toe - not looking like he waxes his chest.

Looks like Logan and Victor are chain gang buddies in the pics. Perhaps these pics take place before Creed is mutated into a complete animal a la Sabertooth.

If that's the case, I think he looks fine.
