Dwayne Johnson to Play The Tooth Fairy

Dwayne Johnson will star as the title character in The Tooth Fairy, a 20th Century Fox comedy that's coming together for an August start, reports Variety.

Michael Lembeck, who helmed the second and third installments of "The Santa Clause," will direct.

Johnson will play an ordinary man who's brought in to try to save the tooth fairy kingdom.

"The Tooth Fairy" was written by Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel and Joshua Sternin & Jeffrey Ventimilia. Jason Blum's Blumhouse will produce with Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray's Mayhem Pictures.

My God, this script has been around forever. I mean Arnie was on again off again to star in this ten to fifteen years ago, but it never came to pass. And for good reason.

Dwayne has the charisma and presence to be the next a-list action guy, but man his career choices suck.

I hate the Rock. He will never fill Arnold's shoes. That's just my opinion, I'm sure people will disagree.

Yeah he makes horrible choices,I guess that's why every one of his movies to date has opened at first place at the box office.And let's be honest,Arnold has some stinkers too,Red Heat,End of Days,or Batman & Robin,anyone?

The Rock was good in most of his movies, it's just too bad that his highest grossing film was a frickin' disney movie. Action star, or idol of 5 yr. olds, you decide.

Well, for the most part, Dwayne Johnson is an acceptable actor, at least unlike Vin Diesel who prances around the set with a stone cold expression, Dwayne at the very least looks like he's having fun on all of his movies.

I enjoyed his movies so far: Walking Tall, The Scorpion King, Doom(yep, even that one) and even The Game Plan.

Judging by the title, I'm guessing this will be an action movie for kids.

My god. What is wrong with this guy? Wasn't he supposed to be like the next Arnold or next Stallone? Instead, he's like stuck in crappy comedy and family movies. goodness...

I don't mind that the guy is making a joke of his own image, but the joke's getting a bit stale. I'd like to see the Rock in something a bit more adult one of these days - not like Southland Tales, but more like The Scorpion King or Runaway.

Don't blame crappy movies for his horrible acting. THE ROCK SUCKS! and I'M so glad I don't have to hear what Rock is cooking or finally Rock has come to....that kind of BS from Dwayne anymore, thank god!
