With the writers strike now over, Walt Disney Pictures has set new release dates for 2009 and early 2010.

The P.J. Hogan-directed Confessions of a Shopaholic, starring Isla Fischer, is coming to theaters Valentine's Day weekend, on February 13, 2009.

On March 13, 2009, the studio will release Race to Witch Mountain, the remake with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb.

Wild Hogs director Walt Becker's new comedy, Old Dogs, featuring Robin Williams, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Bernie Mac, Matt Dillon, Seth Green, Lori Loughlin and Rita Wilson, is set for an April 10, 2009 release.

It looks like X-Men Origins: Wolverine will have new competition on May 1, 2009, as Disney will release The Hannah Montana Movie on that date.

On June 19, 2009, you can expect the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on the video game (previously July 10, 2009).

Also from Bruckheimer comes the live-action/CGI family feature G-Force, now set for a July 24, 2009 date (previously May 1, 2009).

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy The Proposal, previously scheduled to come out on February 13, 2009, has been pushed back to September 25, 2009.

Disney will release Bruce Willis sci-fi action-thriller Surrogates, based on a graphic novel, on November 20, 2009.

And Tim Burton's mix of performance capture animation and live action for Alice in Wonderland will be seen on March 19, 2010.

Two other Disney films have also been retitled. "South of the Border" will now be known as Beverly Hills Chihuahua (Sept. 26, 2008) and "High School Musical 3" as High School Musical 3: Senior Year (Oct. 24, 2008).

The Prince of Persia is one of the best video game stories ever. glad Brucheimerhas his hands on it. If you have a Playstaion and you don't have these games. Buy them. You will love it.

Got that right. I'm just afriad they'll mess the story up in the film, since they said it's going to not follow the exact same storyline, but Bruckheimer should help make this a good film. Glad they didn't push its release date back because of the writers' strike. It's actually sooner now!

Plus, there's not really much competition for Wolverine from HM - I know that film is gonna bring in a ton of money from the little girls that go to watch it, but it shouldn't detract from Wolverine's opening - they're targeted to two very different audiences.

well, Wolverine's screwed.

Cause you know a signifigant part of HM's screen audience will be parents who got dragged to it and WISH they could be watching Wolverine instead.

When I was a kid, I really liked those Witch Mountain movies. The Rock has no place here. For this franchise you need two older established actors to play the villains. Prince of Persia is great for movie material, unless they rewrite it and flush the project to Hell! It's about time Burton id Wonderland. Should have done it years ago, instead of everything after Sleepy Hollow (aside from Big Fish, maybe). Hanna Montana vs. Wolverine? Feral animal-man carving "two" girls to pieces? Sounds like a Nightmare on Elm Street remake to me.

Not really...It will most likely be a PG-13, targeting male demographics, mostly teenagers and young adults. Plus, Jackman himself has quite a large female fanbase(not 13-year-olds) that would want to see him flex his muscles. Drop the screaming little girls to see that Hanna Montana ****, while the parents see Wolverine. Everyone's happy! :D
Besides, maybe she'll have already gone the Britney route by then and no one will want to see the movie... :)
