First Look at Rourke in Aronofsky's Wrestler

WXWWrestling.com has your first look at Mickey Rourke in character on the set of director Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler. The drama centers on Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Rourke), a 1980s-era star pro wrestler who has become a burnt-out shell of his former self. After he has a heart attack during a small-time match, a doctor tells him he could die if he fights again. But the prospect of a rematch with his old nemesis the Ayatollah proves too tempting to resist, even if it means risking his life.

Wow. Looks awful. They really shouldn't be talking or revealing anything about this film right now. It'll create a negative buzz. If that pic is supposed to excite people...man that's pathetic looking.

Look. It's a freaking Darren Aronofsky film. The man is a visionary. I'm excited for any movie he makes. Even the ones with Mickey Rourke(?) in them. Give the man a little credit for knowing what he's doing.

Hmmm, I'm not really sure what to think at the moment. I have to admit the picture does not look favorable, but being from Aronofsky, whose known for his cinematographic techniques it's impossible to judge based off one still image.

Wow. You guys have no idea what you're talking about. 'The Wrestler' is a modern day story about one of theses strip mall wrestlers, down on his luck, in Middle America. And, the pic isn't supposed to 'excite' people. It's just an 'on-set' pic posted on one of these strip mall wrestler websites. Furthermore, it's Darren Aronofsky. The man has style to spare. Chill out...

i think you guys are being unfair. he looks like an 80s wrestler. and isn't that the whole gimmick of the movie?

think jake the snake roberts. anyone seen what he looks like recently? he would kill to look like mickey in that pic..
