On Friday, ComingSoon.net got to hang out on the set of Paramount Pictures' upcoming thriller Eagle Eye, which stars Shia LaBeouf, and while we're excited about his latest project, we of course had to ask a few Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Transformers 2 questions:

ComingSoon.net: It sounds like you might work with director D.J. Caruso for a third time on "Y: The Last Man"?
Shia LaBeouf: Yeah, we've been talking about it. "Y: The Last Man" is cool. I don't know when I would do that though or how I would fit it in. It would be kind of ridiculous to keep doing the same deal over and over. "Y: The Last Man" is kind of similar to some things. We're both huge fans of that comic book.

CS: Can you compare the scope of this film to "Indy 4" and "Transformers"?
LaBeouf: "Indiana Jones," the scope of it is insane. "Transformers" had a different kind of scope. This is a more realistic vibe than both of those films. The action is different. It's less grandiose and more offsetting real. To make it look that real, it's almost easier to go bigger. Indy has a campy... there's a humor to all of the action. It's a very different type of action. This is not slip on a banana peel, that type, this is a whole different deal. It's very real. It's candid reality.

CS: Did you do a lot of physically demanding work in "Indy"?
LaBeouf: Yeah.

CS: Any word or update on "Transformers 2"?
LaBeouf: We're in the middle of a strike so you can't write a script and you can't make a movie without a script so that's where we're at.

CS: Is there any truth to you continuing the "Indy" franchise on your own?
LaBeouf: Am I into it? Who wouldn't be? I don't think that's reality. It's a fun rumor.

CS: Is there anything you're looking forward to seeing in "Indy"?
LaBeouf: The movie. I'm just as anxious as you guys are. I haven't seen anything. [Spielberg's] just secretive with certain people. He's locked in a room. And then George [Lucas] gets his cut. It's not like, "Hey it's Shia's viewing time." I'll see it when the premiere
happens.

CS: Before you were doing these big budget action films, you were doing smaller character drive movies. Is that something you'd like to get back into doing?
LaBeouf: I think that every career has stages. This is the stage I'm in now. I'm 21-years-old. It's insane for me to be here. I'm extremely fortunate. I'm enjoying this. I enjoy that also. This is just what is going on now. This little group of directors and friends that I've created now over the last couple of films, we enjoy working with each other and some of those movies have sequels attached. To do "Transformers" with Mike [Bay] would be awesome. If we do it or not, who knows. But there are some smaller movies I'd love to do, sure. I read those constantly. I read those just as much I read the bigger ones. I don't control a lot of this. This is just sort of happening. It's beautiful and I enjoy it, but I think if I keep doing this over and over again, it will lose it's charm I'm sure.

The first Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer is expected to hit theaters on February 14th. The movie will be released on May 22. Eagle Eye is scheduled for an August 8 release, while Transformers 2 is tentatively eyeing a June 26, 2009 release.
