Conan is the best creation ever. He is God.

I've resaerched a couple of rumored possibilities for this project and have come-up with my own rebuttles for each.
For starters Hollywood needs to forgo writing an original story and instead adapt a screenplay from one of Robert E. Howard's original books. This is the mistake they made not once but twice with the first two Conan films. If the movies had followed the books more closely I seriously doubt we'd be waiting this long for a 3quel. If they use anything from the first two films it should be the original score. The theme music written by Basil Poledouris was absolutely perfect and should belong to no other character.
Another problem is the lead. Casting Arnold Schwarzenegger, although familiar with the role, would be a rather impractical move. The guy is old enough to be a senior citizen. I doubt he has the stamina or prowess to really sell a convincing performance especially for such a physically demanding role. And aren't we forgetting the fact that he's under political obligation to the state of CAHLIFOHRNYA ie; governor? Froget AHHNOLD. This should be a new realization of a classic character, and should have a new face to go with it.
I'd also like to address the possibility of Conan having a son. Nowhere in any of the author's books is Conan written as the father of a ligitimate offspring. This idea was based on the premis of Conan being the King looking to pass his kingdom on to a worthy heir. It sounds more like an excuse for Hollywood to put an end to an almost forgotten series. Well, SCREW THAT! It would be much better if they just started over; new face, new series, original stories. At least this way you wouldn't have to slap on the title "King Conan: Crown of Iron" just to satisfy a sense of closure to a more deserving series.
Well that's my opinion. I know I'm not a producer or have any affiliations in the movie biz(other than my mom's 2nd cousin Ed Harris). However, if I have one last thing to say about this project it's this; It takes a fan. Only a true, die-hard fan has the passion to bring a story they love to the life it deserves. As much as I loved the original movie and even the second, and always believed the Govonor was born for the role and gave it life, I will be just fine having a new face to the story. Hollywood has done well with GLADIATOR, 300, and LORD OF THE RINGS. I think there will be a respect towards an ultimate warrior's story. On the other hand, if their going to do a KING CONAN tale, then why not use arnold in a scruffy look like in the beginning of RED HEAT, or the end scene of the previous CONAN movies. That would be awesome!
