Empire Online has learned from Bob Hoskins that director Robert Zemeckis will use the motion capture technique developed for The Polar Express and the upcoming Beowulf to retell A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Hoskins, who previously worked with Zemeckis on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, said that the director wants him "to play Mr. Fezziwig. He's doing in that way he did 'Polar Express.' You stand in a box with that funny suit on and it reads everything you do...Am I going to do it? Of course I am!"

Beowulf hits theaters and IMAX on November 16.
