The film tells the story of the clever and resourceful Kit Kittredge (Breslin), a nine-year-old girl growing up in 1934 during America's Great Depression.
Ann Peacock (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) wrote the script, and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Marisa Yeres and Lisa Gillan are producing. Filming begins next month.
