The filmmaker seems to have been bitten by the biblical bug as it's being reported that his company Scott Free is teaming with 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment (who co-produced Exodus) for a big-screen epic based on the Old Testament hero King David.
The untitled biblical movie will be written by Jonathan Stokes and it will follow David in his time as King of Israel after the slaying of Goliath.
Because Scott is already developing three other movies--a sequel to Prometheus, The Martian and another about football concussions--it's doubtful he will direct it.
Exodus, which is scheduled for release on December 20, follows a series of successful biblical movies including Darren Aronofsky's Noah, starring Russell Crowe, which has grossed $350 million worldwide, and Fox's Son of God.
Stokes wrote the 2012 action drama Gringo as well as Blood Mountain and Murders & Acquisitions, which are currently in development.
