The purpose of this roundup is to put the highlights of all things Star Wars from the last week in one location. If you read this each week, you should be able to converse fluently with any Star Wars fan on everything from the latest Star Wars: Episode VII
developments to the latest toys. And maybe you'll even share with them something that they might have missed.
Let's get to it!
Episode VII News and Rumors
Yesterday, some unfortunate news came as is was announced that Harrison Ford had a mishap with the Millennium Falcon. What a piece of junk!
Here’s some info:
"Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates," studio Disney said a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
A source tells THR that the actor, who reprises his role as Han Solo from the original franchise, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that his character pilots in the original films. The spaceship looks to be making a return in the sequel.

threw a few more rumors on the stack:
There will be a female villain. Over 50% sure she's a Sith. I'll follow up on this in later weeks.
Despite having 30 Years after Jedi to set one up, there is NO New Republic at the start of Episode VII.
Boba-Fett-similar armor is around. Probably not for the man himself. Mandalorians? Clone drama? Still unclear on a plot/character connection.
John Boyega isn’t a Jedi or a Padawan at the beginning of the movie, he’s the one that has the story arc that brings him into Star Wars’ greater universe. It has echoes of Luke’s arc in A New Hope.

- Gleeson’s family in dark over Star Wars
The Irish star of the latest instalment in the Star Wars trilogy comes from one of Ireland’s best known acting dynasties, but Domhnall Gleeson has had to keep the script for the highly-anticipated flick under lock and key, even from his legendary actor dad Brendan.
While they are delighted for Domhnall, brother Brian, who is a huge Star Wars fan, said his sibling is being very careful to ensure he keeps the film secrets under wraps.
"He can’t say anything so he doesn’t give me any information," Brian told the...
And About Time star Domhnall even had to keep the news that he had landed the role from his family for several months.
"I didn’t know a thing, he kept it very secret," added Brian.
IGN Middle East
posted a new rumor:
According to our source, actor Simon Pegg, previously seen in JJ Abram's 'Star Trek' series and 'Mission Impossible 3', is in fact playing a secret role in the film and was present on set to shoot scenes in Abu Dhabi. This is in stark contrast to what Pegg had to say about a possibility of starring in Star Wars previously:
"I don't think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting."
Whether he changed his mind or this was a ruse all along, the fact is that Pegg may have an unannounced cameo or role in the film that we don't know about just yet.
Maybe he's inside the giant pig puppet.
Mark Hamill appeared at Disney’s Star Wars Weekends this past weekend and he had a few minor Episode VII updates:
Carrie Fisher also continues to censor herself when it comes to giving out filming information:
George Lucas also infamously told Carrie Fisher not to wear a bra on "A New Hope" since "there is no underwear in space." Well, Fisher had this update on her "Episode VII" wardrobe:

rounded up some rumors that appeared on the IMDb forums, which is a dubious source at best. Click the link to see if any of them have merit. Rumors include talk of a snow covered environment which is speculated to possibly be Illium, the planet where Jedi get crystals for their lightsabers.

- Lupita Nyong'o Leaks Cryptic 'Star Wars' Details
It was officially announced on June 2 that the Oscar winner, 31, is joining the cast of the next installment of the legendary sci-fi franchise.
"I can tell you that I'm going to a galaxy far, far away," Lupita joked, remaining coy about the details of her exciting new role.
She did, however, claim to find the perfect spot for director J.J. Abrams to film the movie.
"I went up to the volcano, actually, and I thought that would be the perfect place to shoot Star Wars," she said, referring to the picturesque Hawaii setting. "We need to get J.J. on the phone."
- Now where did I park the Falcon? Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams are lost in conversation during day out as Star Wars production moves to London
- Star Wars: Episode VII sets likely to be preserved on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island
Even when the new Star Wars movie has gone to DVD, fans will have something to remember it by – in a museum in Abu Dhabi.
The media hub twofour54 is looking at ways to preserve the Star Wars: Episode VII film sets built for secret filming in the desert last month.
"We are storing them until we curate them with the support of our friends in the Cultural District," chief executive Noura Al Kaabi said on Wednesday. "We haven't finalised the location but it is likely to be Saadiyat."

- Gareth Edwards Talks 'Star Wars' Spinoff in China
"I am very, very lucky, living in a dream job at the moment. I'm not allowed to talk about it, it's all very secretive, but it's a dream come true. Star Wars is the reason I got into filmmaking, so to be given this opportunity is like a dream," he said. "Now the pressure is on."
claims that Robert Pattinson is being considered for a role as young Han Solo. Our take? Highly doubtful. I would expect an unknown to take the role. Here's their report for your reference:
Robert might be gearing up to play one of the most famous movie characters of all time.
"Everyone has been talking about the possibility that Rob will be the new Indiana Jones, but that is not going to happen," a source reveals EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. "What has been talked about is a standalone Han Solo film, younger Han Solo before everything that happened in Star Wars and the person who is on the high list to get the part is Robert Pattinson."

- HOT SCOOP: ‘BOBA FETT' Movie To Be Written By Lawrence Kasdan??!!
Kasdan is writing Boba Fett.
Might not be too much of a surprise to many people following the rumor mills but an interesting element to all this, according to our source, is that Kasdan might be basing some elements of his screenplay off of an Expanded Universe story!
What??? But wait… The EU isn't canon!? That's what everyone at Disney and Lucasfilm are saying and yes, that appears to be the case when the Holocron Keepers continually say over and over again that only the films, The Clone Wars and Rebels are considered "canon." So in this case, if we are to believe that this is the iron-clad truth, then using an EU story would be considered false.
But through our very trusted source (who shall remain nameless as they asked for anonymity in this case – duh, it's STAR WARS for Wampa's Breath sake!), the fact that a book or story isn't considered canon does not mean that they are not using some ideas and/or plot points to create a whole new story with certain elements from an EU tale. It's that little bit I am most interested in exploring.

- Disney to Release ‘Star Wars Scene Maker' App That Turns Kids Into Directors
Disney is releasing next week a new app that will allow children to become visual storytellers.
Disney Publishing Worldwide executive VP Andrew Sugerman unveiled "Star Wars Scene Maker" at Variety's Purpose: The Family Entertainment and Faith-Based Summit at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills on Thursday.
"The output of this is you're actually going to create a minute-long film," said Sugerman.
Available June 19, the app gives children the ability to reimagine three iconic scenes from the "Star Wars" franchise, including the Cloud City duel, and what those worlds can be using their own imagination.
