Episode VII and Spinoff News and Rumors
Ali Arikan is back again posting Star Wars rumors, this time in regards to the release dates for the spinoff film and "Episode VIII." Let’s see if they come true.
He followed up with the following on the shooting schedule:
The Hollywood Reporter
interviewed Star Wars veteran Phil Tippet, who gave out this interesting update:
Will you also be working on the new Star Wars movie?
I talked to [Luscasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy about it, but first will be Jurassic World, then we'll see where they're at.
Let’s hope he comes back!
If you’re keeping track of which rumors come true and which are bogus, you have to give credit to Latino Review
confirmed that Zac Efron did meet with Lucasfilm.
Finally, Gary Oldman confirmed with Sky Movies that he has had talks about "Episode VII":
Jedi News UK
spotted something interesting in a Disney letter to shareholders
"...the rich universe of Star Wars has tremendous creative potential for the entire company. While the world eagerly awaits Episode VII to open in theaters, we’re introducing Star Wars Rebels to television audiences this summer with a movie and a series of shorts on Disney Channel, followed by a continuing series on Disney XD. Our success in building a robust pipeline of original Star Wars content for various platforms will be an integral part of our long-term strategy to leverage the franchise across a variety of our businesses, from theme parks to consumer products."
This would seem to confirm the TV movie that has been mentioned. Jedi News UK
also noticed another interesting line in the report:
Intangible assets primarily consist of intellectual property based on the Star Wars franchise with an estimated useful life of approximately 40 years. The goodwill reflects the value to Disney from leveraging Lucasfilm intellectual property across our distribution channels, taking advantage of Disney's established global reach.
A 40 year life? Not longer?
Jedi News UK
got a sneak peek at the upcoming Star Wars Rebels LEGOs at the UK Toy Fair. It also happens to be our first look at some of the new characters.
Lucasfilm also released six Imperial propaganda posters
to celebrate the release of "Star Wars Rebels."
These posters were mailed as postcards to 2500 fans and Jedi News UK
posted some photos of the mail outs.

- 'Chewbacca' attack hits shops in 11 nations
Swift action has stopped an attack that stole credit and debit card details from retailers in 11 nations.
The attack, which used a malicious program called "Chewbacca," was discovered by security company RSA.
The server at the centre of the attack has now been shut down but not before thieves managed to grab details of 24 million transactions.
Retailers in 11 separate nations fell victim to the attack including shops in Russia, Canada, Australia and the US.
In the blogpost detailing the shutdown, security analyst Yotam Gottesman said the thieves grabbed data from equipment at cash tills in "several dozen" shops. RSA has contacted the shops and told them about the attack.
On point-of-sale equipment the malicious software disguised itself as a file that handled printing.
It was given the name "Chewbacca" because the login page for the server collating data from infected machines features a picture of the Star Wars wookiee.
