The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will heavily expand on the franchise and will introduce a slew of new characters, one of which is the mysterious Norman Osborn, played by Chris Cooper. Since the character was only alluded to in the first film, the sequel will function as an introduction to the character and Cooper says it is a peculiar introduction.

"'[Amazing] Spider-Man 2' was an introduction to Norman," Cooper said in an interview with MTV. "And you'll see an extremely odd introduction, which apparently will lead to something more."

Now, it's all but confirmed that we'll be seeing the Sinister Six at some point down the road in "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise, and like so many others, Cooper says he's been informed of those talks for future installments.

"They sent me some material," he said, adding, "But they said also that this Spider-Man is its own Spider-Man. We're just kind of starting from the beginning."

Opening in theaters on May 2, 2014, the Marc Webb-directed sequel stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak and Sarah Gadon.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
