Although it was confirmed earlier this year that the core cast of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis will be back for Horrible Bosses 2 (with Jamie Foxx expected to return as well), Deadline today brings word that director Seth Gordon will not be returning.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the 2011 original, are drafting the sequel. The original film starred Bateman, Sudeikis and Day as a group of friends that decide to kill off each other's bosses (played by Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrel and Kevin Spacey).
Gordon, who launched his feature film career with the documentary The King of Kong, recently directed the Universal Comedy Identity Thief and will re-team with Day and Sudeikis for that studio's One Night on the Hudson.
It is expected that Warner Bros. will announce a new director for Horrible Bosses 2 shortly. Check back for details as soon as they become available.
