Following the announcement of leading lady Hailee Steinfeld last month comes word that Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast of Kyle Newman's Barely Lethal.
Barely Lethal is a playful, high-velocity action-comedy in which a 16-year old international assassin (Steinfeld) yearning for "normal" adolescence fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school. When her former-employer (Jackson) comes calling, it becomes more extracurriculars than any teenager can handle.
Jackson, who most recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, is currently filming his next entry in Marvel Studios' cinematic universe with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In Barely Lethal, he'll play a mentor to Steinfeld's character.
Barely Lethal will be produced by Brett Ratner, RKO and Hopscotch Pictures.
