Vin Diesel Directing Fast and Furious Prequel

Vin Diesel, who stars in next Friday's Babylon A.D., told ComingSoon.net today that he is directing a 20-minute prequel to Fast and Furious, the fourth installment in the Universal Pictures franchise.
Diesel will star in the prequel along with Michelle Rodriguez reprising her role as Letty and Sung Kang returning as Han. Diesel didn't say how the prequel would premiere; it could be on a DVD, online, TV, etc.
The fourth movie is a sequel to the first installment, and though Diesel didn't elaborate, we assume this 20-minute prequel will tie-in some of the events from the second and third movies. Rodriguez appeared in the first movie, Sung Kang in the third, and Diesel in the first with a brief cameo in the third.
In the Justin Lin-directed Fast and Furious, opening June 5, 2009, fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him.

JoeTorre....
Quit hating on this franchise. The movies are pretty much about racing customized show cars. The writers do the best they can with the material they are presented with.
I'm happy to be getting more Fast & The Furious!

The first FnF was the best, part 2 was pure trash...and three was good but should have had a different name not under the FnF label. Should have just called it Drift Kings or something. I do like to par take in the nightly race (have 2001 mustang GT and 2001 ws6 worked) so i do enjoy movies on racing i remember when the first FnF hit it was great...it was just like when i go racing everyone lines up and hits it as hard as they can...but minus the hot chicks....

The first movie Diesel directed was pretty good, not great, but show promise. It will be interesting to see what he does with this short.

Vin Diesel is a loser...i don't know why people even watch hs movies...i.e.
The Pacifier
Pitch Black
XXX
The Fast & The Furious
All of them are terrible and I bet that Babylon A.D. will suck too...
Oh...And just cause they take the "the"'s out of the title doesn't make it sound original...

These movie are just for us import car culture nuts. They aren't meant to be Oscar contenders. I will be at the movies for this.

Somehow I can't help but think this is just going to be like the last short prequel to a Fast and Furious movie where it's just a bunch of random scenes stuck together, hmm...

@KoolKidsKlub
What are you, stupid? Vin Diesel happens to be what action star should be. Capable of pulling off any genre: action (The Fast And The Furious, XXX), comedy (The Pacifier), drama (Find Me Guilty, Saving Private Ryan), & sci-fi (Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Rid****). Plus, his movies managed to become big box-office hits. So, either you're vindictive or just can't stand the fact that this guy act in any genre that movie is placed into.

I can understand what Randy R. is saying, these movies are basically entertainment purposes only. Their will be no Oscar performances, or crazy plot twists, it's like an action flick for car enthusiasts.
I still don't like it though. I find it as entertaining as Star Wars Episode I, II, and III.

Oh how times have change. Paul Walker...Vin Diesel...Michelle Rodriguez....
Back when the first movie of this series came out, these guys were all supposed to become mega stars, even coming to the point that some didn't want to have anything to do with the series.
Funny how today there really in the same situation that they were in before this series started, and now they're coming back for more.

vin was cool in The Iron Giant. judging from that, he'll probably be a fantastic director.
