War of Gods, 300 Follow-Up, Hobbit, Cloverfield 2 and More!

Collider.com alerted us to more video interviews they've posted that were done at the Saturn Awards on Tuesday evening:

Producers Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari and Bernie Goldmann Video Interview

They say they have landed director Tarsem Singh ("The Fall," "The Cell") to helm "War of Gods." They say it's another Greek film like "300." They say they're going to use the stuff they learned on "300" to make the film and they said it's going to start filming in the first quarter of next year. The other bit of news is on "300." They announced they're working on a new Blu-ray edition of the film and they dropped a bomb... they're trying to make a sequel/prequel to 300.

At first I didn't believe them, but later in the night I spoke to Zack Snyder again (interview will be posted tomorrow) and he confirmed what they said. He said Frank Miller is working on a new story of some kind and if they all really like it they'll make it! Crazy news....I know!

First!!! Alright, I like the sound of this. I want to see more of "300" and cloverfield deserves a sequel and possibly a prequel. War of Gods sounds awesome. Kinda makes me think of clash of the titans, which was a pretty good movie for its time.

Here come all of the 300 and cloverfield haters with nothing better to do then to rant about why these films shouldn't be made without giving any real insight in to why their first films were bad films, and dont give me any of that shaky cam makes me sick bull****, that doesn't make it a bad film, it just means you can't handle shaky cam.

a shame...

i personally enjoyed 300 big time. it was a mindles slaughter movie, i like those (cant wait for warcraft) and i havent seen cloverfield, so i dont care. i could however see how a prequel to 300 copuld work out. they could include tht hilarious sequence when leonidas is asked to send troops for battle and he sends one warrior^^ allways wanted to see that^^

Hmmm... well, in my opinion, Cloverfield sucked, and not because of the "shaky cam", but because it was just boring, so won't be watching that sequel.

300, on the other hand, deserves a sequel with the battle shown at the end as its opening, I'd love that, though I think it would be kinda hard to form a story around it... maybe they'll pick up from when the 300 fell, and leading up to the battle, then they replay 300's final scene and show the full battle - that would be great, and I want Delios as the main character.

War of Gods sounds like it could be good, though be prepared: everyone will call it a 300 rip-off. Ok, it can't be a rip-off if it's made by like the same people. They should really make the storylines different though (and from the title, can't see how it will be similar anyways)... So I think I'll be watching it, but have to see ads and maybe reviews first.

By the way, I'd prefer a sequel to 300 rather than a prequel, because as great a character as Leonidas was, I don't really want to see him again, but of course I'd watch it... it would be cool to see the relationship between the spartans and the persians before the battle of thermopylae.

Would love to see Hellboy 3 - can't believe we'll have to wait till 2012 until it starts production, though, which means we won't see it til like 2014 at least... damn.

there is ALOT of sequel news today!

a 300 sequel shouldn't suprise ANYONE. nowdays if a film is a hit then there WILL be a sequel.

anyway, they could do an entire preuqel saga: The Legend Of King Lionadias.
