PlayStation and HBO jointly announced this evening that they have partnered to bring the channel's streaming service, HBO GO, to PlayStation 3 in the very near future. The service will follow soon thereafter for the new PlayStation 4.

The HBO GO app requires an HBO subscription via your cable or satellite provider and provides unlimited, on-demand access to shows like "Game of Thrones," "Boardwalk Empire" and the just-premiered "True Detective." HBO GO offers every episode of every season of the network's popular shows as well as hit movies, sports, documentaries, and comedy specials and behind-the-scenes extras.

Check back for full details on when exactly the service will be implemented.
