Mini-Review:
For its 60th anniversary, "Alice in Wonderland" finally gets the Blu-ray treatment. I have to say that this movie looks better than ever. In fact, it probably didn't look this bright, crisp, and clear even when it first hit theaters. I was amazed at how bright the colors were. Alice's dress is so incredibly blue it practically burns into your retinas. It gets even more impressive as Alice ventures into Wonderland. Combine that with the DTS HD-MA sound and you have a presentation any Disney animation fan is going to want to add to their collection.

This Blu-ray not only comes with a DVD copy of the film, it actually comes with all the previously released bonus features that were on old DVDs. So you're not losing anything by upgrading to the Blu-ray if you already own the DVD. In fact, some of the bonus features are even upgraded to HD presentations. But the good news is Disney offers some new HD bonus features, too. The highlight among them is "Through the Keyhole: A Companion's Guide to Wonderland." With this, you can watch the entire movie with various commentators on screen discussing the film. There are Lewis Caroll historians, Disney animators, and even the voice of Alice, Kathryn Beaumont. You'll definitely learn something new about the film while watching this. Also included is "Disney View." With this, the black bars on the side of the screen are filled in with art drawn by a Disney artist. Rounding things out is a "Painting the Roses Red" game, a brief vintage Walt Disney introduction to the film from his TV show, and some test footage.
