Mini-Review:
"Justice League" was an awesome series. It started off with the top DC characters as the core of the team, then in subsequent seasons expanded the team to include B and C grade DC heroes. And oddly enough, the lower tier heroes frequently stole the show. It was a great series and one that stands up years later unlike many of the old Superfriends cartoons.

These DVDs have been available for some time, but this is the first time that all the series have been included together in one set. All 91 episodes are here along with the bonus features from the previous collections. There's also an extra disc with the featurette "Unlimited Reserve: Exploring the Depths of the DC Universe." This is a retrospective with the creators including Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. They discuss the development of the series, the differences from previous team-up series like Superfriends, the use of obscure characters from the DC Universe, and more. It's a fun look back that makes you appreciate what they pulled off.

There are really only two reasons to buy this DVD set. The first is to possibly replace discs that kids have destroyed. The earlier seasons came in crappy cardboard cases that are torn up very quickly by kids. And if you have children that watched the discs repeatedly, they probably have scratches, fingerprints, snot, etc. smeared all over them. Getting this set now is a good opportunity to replace them. The other reason to buy this set is simply to get it for the first time. Maybe you missed the previous DVD offerings. Now you can get all of them for a fraction of the price it would have cost you to get them before. But if you already own all the sets and they are still in good shape, you don't want to buy this set for one 20 minute featurette. It's not worth buying them all again.
