Synopsis:
The following is from the DVD cover:

"Every killer lives next door to someone.

Even on this quiet tree-lined street, no one is safe... especially from the savage killer next door. Welcome to Disturbia.

Living under three months' house arrest, Kale Brecht (Shia LaBeouf) passes his days spying on the neighbors. It's all fun and games until things take a horrifying turn for the worse. Kale is convinced his neighbor next door is a serial killer - but he can't prove anything, can't convince anyone and can't leave his house without triggering an alarm. Enlisting the help of his friends, Kale is determined to expose the truth - but have they all taken on more than they bargained for with a cold-blooded murderer on the loose?

With nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, Kale and his friends are in a race for their lives in this electrifying thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat."

"Disturbia" is rated PG-13 on appeal for sequences of terror and violence, and some sensuality.

Mini-Review:
As you might expect, comparisons between Disturbia and Rear Window are inevitable. Both have similar themes of voyeurism and murder mystery. But "Disturbia" takes the story and modernizes it. Rather than being confined to a wheelchair, Kale is under house arrest with an ankle tracker. Throw in the internet, camera cell phones, and other high tech gadgets and you have a thoroughly modern twist on an old story.

"Disturbia" takes things a step further by making this a teen thriller. Shia LaBeouf leads the cast as Kale. LaBeouf continues to show his strong acting abilities here. He is great at improvised dialogue and brings a lot of energy and genuineness to his performance. You also buy him as a good kid or a rebel depending on which part of the story it is. The other young cast members are entertaining, too. Sarah Roemer is beautiful and flirtatious as Ashley. It's easy to see why Kale would be infatuated with her. Aaron Yoo also brings a lot of comic relief as Ronnie. The adult actors hold their own as well. We have Carrie-Anne Moss as Kale's mom, Julie, and David Morse as the creepy Mr. Turner.

I'd recommend "Disturbia" to fans of Shia LaBeouf and anyone that likes thrillers. I'd also say that this is a safe movie for adults to let their teens watch. It's scary without venturing into R territory.

There is a decent selection of bonus features here. First up is your standard commentary by Director D.J. Caruso, Shia LaBeouf, and Sarah Roemer. It's nice to see the cast members take part in the commentary for a change. Next up are four Deleted Scenes. They last 4.5 minutes. They are mainly a few more scenes between Kale and his mother. You'll also find "The Making of 'Disturbia'" which runs 15 minutes, Serial Pursuit Trivia Pop-Up Quiz, a photo gallery, and 1.5 minutes of outtakes. Rounding things out is the Music Video "Don't Make Me Wait" by This World Fair.
