The following is from the DVD cover:
"A long time ago, in a faraway land, legend tells an extraordinary tale of courage and friendship…
Get ready for swashbuckling adventure, unforgettable characters, memorable music, and lots of laughs in Disney's 'Robin Hood,' one of the most cherished animated films of all time.
Heroic Robin Hood -- along with his trusted companion Little John and his devoted band of merry men -- conjures up one famously funny and daring deed after another to outfox greedy Prince John and bring happiness to the residents of Sherwood Forest.
'The Most Wanted' edition DVD also features a forest full of merriment with a never-before-seen alternate ending, all-new games, and Disney Song Selection, plus a new digital transfer, 5.1 Surround Sound, and much more!"
"Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition" is rated G.
Robin Hood makes another appearance on DVD in this 'Most Wanted' Edition. Despite having a new digital transfer and a new surround sound track, it doesn't get the Platinum Edition treatment that a lot of the other Disney titles recently have. There's no 'making of' feature, no retrospective, no commentary, or other common bonus features.
The main bonus feature is the 'alternate ending.' It is shown in storyboard format. In it, we see Robin Hood wounded after his fall from the castle wall. Prince John and Sir Hiss track him to the church where they find Maid Marion attending to him. Just as Prince John goes in for the kill, King Richard arrives and stops him. The ending features Robin Hood and Maid Marion getting married in a way similar to the final version.
Rounding out the bonus features are an art gallery with pre-production art, a trivia game with an archery theme, a hide and seek game where you must save Maid Marion, and Disney Song Selections.
If you already own "Robin Hood," this probably isn't worth buying again. But if you have kids that have never seen it, this is the edition you'll most want to get (pun intended).
