Ross Katz to Helm The Unholy

February 5, 2013

Ross Katz, best known as a producer on films like Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette, has signed on to direct the supernatural thriller The Unholy. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Joseph Fiennes and Morena Baccarin are attached to star.

Based on an original idea by Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza ([REC]), The Unholy was written by E.L. Katz and follows a group of scientists trying to pinpoint the genetics behind evil. They wind up being brought in by the Vatican to diagnose potential candidates for exorcisms.

Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer are producing with Balaguero, Plaza, Guy Danella and Adrian Guerra executive producing.

Production is slated to begin this spring.
