The Solution Entertainment Group's co-founders and partners, Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel today announced their partnership with producers Jonathan Zucker of 25A Productions and Robert Teitel to produce and co-finance the action crime thriller The Harbor. Academy award winning writer Bobby Moresco (Crash) is set to write and direct the film about a New Orleans PI investigating the mysterious death of a woman. He uncovers a conspiracy leading him into a shadowy realm involving rogue agents from the government’s top spy agency.
Zucker and Teitel will produce the film with Wilson and Nestel executive producing the project. The Solution is handling the international distribution rights and will present the film to international buyers at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin. ICM is packaging the film and handling the North American sale on behalf of the filmmakers. Mary Vernieu is currently casting The Harbor for a Summer 2013 start on location in New Orleans.
“The Harbor is truly one of the most thrilling scripts I have read for a very long time. It keeps you guessing at every turn. The international marketplace is going to love it,” said Wilson and Nestel.
Through his State Street Pictures production company, Teitel most recently produced the Sundance Film Festival film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, starring Jeffrey Wright and Jennifer Hudson. Zucker, meanwhile, executive produced The Tortured and Mother's Day.
Moresco adapted the script for The Harbor from the novel "Deadly Codes" by Joseph P. O’Donnell. His writing and directing credits also include 10th & Wolf, starring James Marsden and Giovanni Ribisi and the NBC TV series "The Black Donnellys". Moresco has two other scripts in development; Charlie Lucky Luciano and Castro's Daugther with Michael Radford set to direct.
