Gore Verbinski Set to Direct Adaptation of Graphic Novel Pyongyang

Deadline is reporting that Gore Verbinski will produce and direct an adaptation of the Guy Delisle graphic novel Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea.

Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) will write the script for the dark comedy.

The comic details the story of Delisle, a French animator, as he ventures into North Korea to supervise production of an animated film that has been outsourced to the country. While there, he witnesses many bizarre things and is eventually accused of espionage.
