Alfonso Gomez-Rejon Looks to The Town That Dreaded Sundown

January 17, 2013

Back in November, it was reported that MGM has plans to remake the 1976 horror classic The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Today, ShockTillYouDrop.com has learned that Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is in talks to direct with Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum producing.

Charles B. Pierce directed the original tale, which was loosely based on a true story. The film follows Texarkana residents terrorized by the "Phantom Killer" during the late '40s.

In addition to directing episodes of "American Horror Story," Gomez-Rejon served as the second unit director on Ben Affleck's Argo.

You can check out the trailer for the original film over at ShockTillYouDrop.com.
