Emma Stone Discusses Gwen Stacy's Fate in The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel

Ever since it was first announced that Marc Webb's rebooted Spider-Man universe would begin with Gwen Stacy as Peter Parker's love interest, fans have been wondering exactly how far the character is going to survive given Stacy's infamous demise in the comic book mythos. The recent casting of actress Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson for the 2014 sequel, too, offers the hint that Stacy's departure may come sooner rather than later.

Today, MTV spoke with Emma Stone at the junket for her upcoming Gangster Squad and, while she revealed very little about Webb's plans for the next Spider-Man film, the below video serves as a reminder that Stacy's fate is going to be a major question between now and the film's May 2, 2014 release.

Also starring Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Martin Sheen, the still-untitled sequel will see Spidey battle Electro (Foxx) with production aiming to begin very shortly.
