Bad Teacher Heads to Television

October 5, 2012

CBS has plans to turn last year's R-rated comedy Bad Teacher into a television series. The Hollywood Reporter brings the news, saying that Hilary Winston ("Happy Endings," "Community") will serve as writer and executive producer.

The original film starred Cameron Diaz as Elizabeth Halsey, a surly gold digger who winds up teaching a middle school class. Lucy Punch, Jason Segal and Justin Timberlake also starred as well as members of the faculty.

Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the screenwriters behind the film, are attached to executive produce alongside Winston.
